Designed by Architects Searle x Waldron in partnership with Building Engineering and Oculus, the Sages Road Depot is a striking facility that sets a new standard in sustainable architecture and operational efficiency.
Timber plays a key role in the building’s design, alongside the use of 150,000 locally sourced recycled bricks, which help to significantly reduce the Depot's environmental footprint.
A standout feature of the outdoor spaces is a large custom-designed, curved hardwood seating area which elegantly embraces and enhances the beauty of the mature gum tree. In line with the building's timber-focused design, this seating not only complements the natural surroundings but also mirrors the building's curves and sustainable materials, fostering a seamless connection between architecture and landscape.
Additionally, we provided a range of functional and inviting outdoor seating solutions, including straight bench seating, our Sorrento Cafe Square Table, and smaller seating elements, ensuring the spaces are both practical and welcoming for depot staff.
