A graduate college for transformative learning
Centered around experiential learning, Morling College is a Baptist ministry and learning center located in Macquarie Park, NSW. To accommodate this, a five-story multipurpose facility was built, incorporating educational spaces, offices, a café, staff amenities and landscaped garden areas.
Breakout spaces
The design of the education center by Stanton Dahl Architects and DEM Architects included a range of outdoor breakout spaces to encourage graduates and teaching staff to collaborate, interact, study, and take some time out. Having these dedicated spaces has been shown to be beneficial to increasing productivity levels, as well as mental and physical wellbeing.
Modern practicality
To create these specific areas, the educational campus required highly durable outdoor furniture that was modern in design and complementary to the building’s architecture. A series of Terrain bench and table settings for the large outdoor areas offered the best solution as did a sequence of Terrain benches that line the garden wall for a more causal seating option.
Harmonious design
With solid, Australian Eucalyptus hardwood battens and a sleek, black powder-coated frame, Terrain adds a robust, contemporary feel to these spaces.
